Receiving and Mail Truck outside the Stores and Receiving Building at 2650 Kenny Road
Welcome to Receiving and Mail Services
The Receiving and Mail Services Department administers receipt, delivery and mail functions on behalf of the University Community. We provide timely and accurate handling, distribution and processing of all incoming and outgoing shipments and mail. Our facility is located away from the main campus area, which allows us to combine shipments from multiple trucks and reduce the number of vehicles on campus. With experienced staff and specialized equipment, we are able to receive, document and deliver almost any item to the University Community.
Benefits
-
Lower Freight Costs
It's our job to receive, document and deliver your shipment, thus eliminating extra expenses associated with an outside freight carrier.
-
Improved Inspections
We make it our duty to carefully inspect the packaging and document the external condition of all incoming shipments; handle freight claim reports on damaged or shorted shipments as noted on the packing slip; and provide fast turn-around of items for delivery.
-
Quicker Deliveries
Our policy is to deliver shipments within 24 hours from time of receipt.
-
Reduced Campus Traffic
Using Receiving and Shipping minimizes congestion and the number of outside freight vehicles traveling throughout campus.
-
Short-term Storage
Our facility is capable of holding shipments on a temporary basis while departments make arrangements for receipt of shipment (a minimum fee may be accessed).
